How do you determine skin prices on DaddySkins?
We base skin prices on the average market selling price across several trusted marketplaces. Since prices fluctuate frequently, we calculate an average using internal criteria, like recent sales volume and price trends, to set the most accurate and stable price possible.
How often are skin prices updated?
Updates depend on the feature:
- Exchange and Upgrade prices are refreshed daily to align closely with the current market.
- Cases are updated less frequently, typically on a monthly or quarterly basis, unless there are noticeable discrepancies.
Why is the skin I won in Case Opening priced lower than on the market?
We aim to keep our skin prices in Cases close to the market, but differences can occur, especially in Case Opening due to its structure. Cases use a Provably Fair system, meaning each item’s chance (odds) and price work together to form the Case’s overall value. However, these elements aren’t dynamic, so adjusting one part affects the entire Case. Adjusting Case contents is a manual process, so cases are only reviewed monthly or quarterly.
But even with price variations, you don’t lose out because of odds! When a skin has a lower price, it’s often easier to win. If you win a skin priced below market, that’s partly because of the pricing in the Case. You can always exchange it for a similarly priced skin that’s in stock, as restocking that exact item at the same price may not be possible.
Why is the skin I won in Upgrade priced lower than on the market?
Our Upgrade feature lists skins based on the average market price at the time. However, some items may be priced below current market rates, as we update these prices less frequently. These items, often marked “Out of Stock,” can still be won, and the odds reflect their current listing price. This is similar to Case Opening—if you win a skin at a lower price, it’s because of the odds.
Why does the same skin have a different price in my inventory versus on the Exchange page?
The skin prices in your inventory come from the feature you used, whether it’s Case Opening, Upgrade, or Exchange. As explained above, each feature’s pricing may vary slightly due to updates, odds, or how prices are calculated for that feature.
